Individual Youth Mentoring
Being a kid is difficult! There is so much to learn, having a trusted, scripture-based mentor guide you through academics, navigating friendships, and successfully communicating with parents and loved ones can make a lasting and positive difference.
Guiding Verse for Mentoring:
Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Parent/Guardian Mentoring & Coaching
The reality of our kids today is not the same as when we were growing up. Parent and guardian coaching will enable you to really hear, connect, and guide the children in your home to walk authentically in God’s purpose and plan for them. It’s not simple, it’s sometimes really hard and doesn’t go the way we envisioned but having a coach by your side cheering you on and providing perspective can make those intolerable moments a gift.
Guiding Verse for Coaching:
James 1:2-4, “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
Deuteronomy 6:5-9 “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”
Small group youth mentoring
Teens will explore communication and relational styles, identify successful coping skills and will learn to set healthy boundaries and begin developing a sense of who they were created to be in a small group setting. Create your own group with friends or wait to be placed into an upcoming group.
Guiding Verses for Mentoring:
Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Not neglecting to meet together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another and all the more as you see the day drawing nearer.”
Proverbs 13:20 “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.”
1 Corinthians 15:33 “Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”
Why Mentoring?
Sometimes all we need is a little guidance and perspective, someone to challenge us with empathy, compassion, and love. Being heard and seen is an integral part of the human experience.
Over the years, I have seen the missing aspect in our education system, whether public or private, become apparent; the relationship between the child and the adults in their lives. Through mentoring and coaching children, educators, and the adults orbiting children, we can make a difference in the trajectory of the child's life and strengthen the bond between the family unit and/or the family and their school through building a strong foundation and partnership for growth and success.
Coaching and mentoring is designed to provide insight, help individuals discover newfound energy in their lives, develop an appreciation for what they have and who they are, and create sustainable ways to achieve their vision or dream for themselves or their family. Different from traditional therapy or counseling, coaching’s unique methodology allows me to provide support as an encourager and
guide.
